Jen McIntyre and Scott Marlow On August 21, 2007, Jen McIntyre and Scott Marlow flew east to the province of Ontario, touching down at the Ottawa International Airport in Canada’s capital city. During the next three weeks, these Pacific Northwest transplants traveled eastern Ontario, exploring the nation’s capital, getting to know Jen’s family in the hamlets outside of Ottawa, playing in cabin-country further to the west, and even occasionally delving into bordering Quebec for outdoor fun.

Their adventures took them biking along the plethora of trails in Ottawa, gardening in Greely at the McIntyre family home, hanging out with the family in Kemptville and on Dwyer Hill, canoeing the Rideau River between Kemptville and Manotick, getting lost in the singletrack mountain bike trails of Kanata Lakes, hiking, biking, canoeing, and fishing at the family cabin on Brown’s Lake near Denbigh, canoeing and rock climbing at Bon Echo Provincial Park, rock climbing near Luskville in Quebec, and finally through an aerial obstacle course and zip line tour at La Fleche near Val-des-Monts, Quebec!
